Properly Formatted SemVer fails for Version Pattern

It is possible that I am doing something wrong, but after reviewing it on http://semver.org, I believe that my pattern should work. I am trying to use the pattern (for packages) "1.2.j-rc.b". However, it fails because it fails to match the regex in the code. If I change the pattern to "1.2.j.b-rc", it works, but nuget marks it as failing to comply with the semver spec.

I've the same issue that you. Did you find a solution?

When The VersionPattern is "1.0.0-alpha.b", the build failed with the error message : "VersionPattern must contain the versioning pattern."

please note that nuget will also not accept 1.2.3-rc.4 in order to make this work we need to be able to have something like this 1.2.j-rc{b} where {b} gets replaced by the build number. I have submitted a patch (number 15333) that allows any placeholder to be placed after the prerelease tag using brackets.
